Dhaka International University along with OXFAM Bangladesh conducted a COP side event on “Equity and Just Transition: Bangladesh Insights at COP 28” on 10 December 2023 at the Bangladesh pavilion in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28), Dubai, UAE. Mr. Saber Hossain Chowdhury M.P., Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry on Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bangladesh and Special Envoy to Prime Minister on Climate Change attended the program as chief guest, Dr. Farhina Ahmed, Honorable Secretary Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh attended as guest of honor while Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary MP, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Dhaka International University chaired the event. Dr. Mohammad Emran Hasan, Head of Climate Justice and Natural Resource Rights, OXFAM Bangladesh presented the keynote paper and Dr. Shariful Alam, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, Dhaka International University moderated the event. Nafkote Dabi, Climate Change Policy Lead, Oxfam International spoke as a panelist. Mr. Md Bazlur Rahman, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration, Dhaka International University provided all logistic and managerial support. Delegates from across the world attended the event and appreciates the Climate initiatives of Dhaka International University.
